I’ve always been bothered by people who think this Christianity thing is a cake walk and when bad things happen try to paint them is ‘good in disguise’.
John illustrates a great point here:
There is so much in this world that flat out sucks. Let’s not pretend it doesn’t.
If you’re like me, your faith often stops with yourself. Rather than putting my faith in something solid and true, I often put my faith in myself, or my own ability.
“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
- Arundhati Roy
I don’t know about you, but I can’t completely get my head around the concept of eternity. Truth is, my existence is so small in the grand scheme of things that it’s hard enough just to focus on today let alone eternity. But in the moments when I can clear my mind enough to actually think about where I stand in respect to eternity, it can make today that much easier…because it is so small.
If you have gained any wisdom through your life, there is a good chance you have thought or even said this. School would have been way easier if I knew then what I know now. I would have been more careful with my relationships. I would have treated my family different. I would have approached my work differently.
What if you got a chance to to tell someone younger than you that one piece of advice, what would you tell them?
